The Gin Circle

The Gin Circle are a three piece band from Leicester who formed in July 2012, and consist of Mickey Penfold (vocals, guitar), Dan Clampin (bass) and Ben Green (drums).

Sounding like a crossover between The Kooks and The Libertines, the guys cite their influences as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana and Morrissey. Their music has already been dubbed by some as 'slut-punk' and it's not hard to see how this came about.

Their latest single 'Lost To Be Found' takes on a woozy quality, and sends you drifting into Swim Deep territory - the band gives off a summery feel good vibe, one that will make you want to hear more from them.
I particularly liked the opening chords, they are quite ambiguous and it feels as if the track is left open to follow any direction. This positively adds to the listening experience as you don't quite know what you're getting yourself into, but you'll be pleasantly surprised. The music is like a lucky dip but twice as good.
